Some of these historic locations are well-known destinations, such as Vrachonas, and some are hidden gems that you may never know about unless you spend some time exploring.
I’m going to share with you some of my favorite spots in Corfu, so you can plan your trip accordingly.
The Esplanade and Liston
The Esplanade is a beautiful stretch of land on the west side of Corfu that has a lovely view of the town and the bay. It’s one of the most popular spots on the island, and it is the perfect spot to have a picnic, walk, enjoy the view, or simply sit down and relax.
There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops, and public bathrooms along the Esplanade.
The area is also home to a large statue of King Otto I of Greece, which was erected in memory of the 1827 war against Turkey.
In addition to the Esplanade, the city also features a large Liston, a park with two large fountains, and the ruins of an ancient Roman amphitheater. Is a Greece tourist attraction worth visiting.
You can easily access the Esplanade and the Liston from the city center.
The Achilleion is a museum, palace and hotel that is located in the city of Corfu. It was originally built in the 19th century, and has since been expanded to house a museum, theater and hotel.

The palace itself is a large complex that includes a library, exhibition hall, theater and café. It also has two swimming pools, a gym, sauna, solarium, Turkish bath, tennis courts and more.
The hotel is also impressive, offering suites, rooms, villas and apartments. There is also an indoor swimming pool, a spa, a sauna, a Turkish bath, and a café.
You can visit the ancient ruins of the city of Paleokastro, which sits on a cliff overlooking a beautiful beach. Paleokastritsa is one of the most picturesque beaches in the island. The water is crystal clear, the sand is smooth, and the turquoise-colored rocks that line the shoreline make this a must-see location.
Mount Pantokrator is a mountain in the southern part of Corfu Island, near the city of Galaxidi. It is considered the highest mountain in Greece and the second highest in the Ionian Islands after Mount Olympos.
It’s also the most popular mountain in Corfu because of its panoramic views. It is also one of the most photographed places in the island.
The mountain is surrounded by a number of villages, including the famous Kastro, with its ancient walls and fortress.
The main attraction of the mountain is the view of the city of Galaxidi and the surrounding sea, which is especially beautiful at sunset.
The most common way of reaching the mountain is by car, but you can also reach it by walking. The path is very short, just over 10 minutes, and it’s possible to walk up the mountain in one hour.
However, if you’re looking for a longer hike, you can also follow the trail to the village of Agios Georgios, which is about 20 km away from the mountain.
There are two things to know about the Canal d’Amour.
First, it’s one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Second, it’s a must-visit location.
It’s a short walk from the town of Kythira, which is located on the east side of the island. But, the canal is in the middle of nowhere. There is a small restaurant on the water, and the entire area is dotted with small hotels and restaurants.
So, if you want to enjoy this magical spot, you’ll need to get away from the busy crowds.
