What distinguishes the Marvel Cinematic Universe from other film franchises? Superheroes, of course, but also: a sense of looming existential threats to planet Earth or the entire universe; spectacular effects; large casts of characters played by familiar faces, some of whom were already global stars (Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson), others of whom have been made so by the MCU (Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston); sharp, MARVEL FILMS ironic dialogue; a sensual sense of place. Marvel’s blockbusters aren’t profound, but they’re intellectual and well-received.
Characters and actors who play them make their way through the many sub-franchises. Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), Iron Man’s alter ego, has appeared in 11 MCU films, including Avengers and Captain America. Nick Fury, a character played by Jackson who had a brief appearance in the first Iron Man film, has featured in 11 MCU films, albeit he is not a significant character in any of them. MARVEL FILMS Characters like Fury serve as connective tissue in the MCU, reminding viewers that they are seeing a Marvel movie.
Here are some of the elements that I contribute to Marvel’s addictive nature:
Consistency:
Marvel has never lost its speed, and things only seem to get better with each new movie, from ‘Iron Man’ to ‘Infinity War.’
Interconnectivity:
Each film builds on the previous one and teases what the next one will bring, making you want to see it. You’ll surely notice this if you watch every Marvel movie in order of story.
There’s no rush:
Marvel handles all of its characters equally. If a film like Black Panther sells well at the box office, the studio will not go out of its way to make a sequel and vice versa. They always go with the flow they’ve established.
Characters/moments that are relatable/diverse:
No matter who you are or where you belong, you will almost certainly find characters/moments that are relatable. MCU will become more diverse in the future, making it more approachable to a wider audience.
Family Friendly:
This trait provides you the freedom to watch and discuss movies openly with your family. You can even enlist the help of your family members if you prefer it that way, as I do. Or, like my family, you may be a full family of Marvel nerds.
Character Development & New Elements:
The MCU movies don’t give you a chance to blink.
Fantastic cast and crew:
Their outstanding effort has made me fall in love with the films.
For long-time comic book lovers, the MCU was a dream come true. As a result, MCU tries to stay as close to the source material as possible.
The MCU has a head start thanks to Marvel Comics, but it would not be so dominant if it hadn’t been for amazing consistency in execution – from its narrative planning and internal coherency to outstanding casting, costume, directing, and writing choices. Such consistency is the result of having a world runner who views Marvel’s characters as more than simply intellectual property, but as living, breathing legends. The global entertainment industry may be cynical, but finding a nerd as pure as Kevin Feige is the key to success Learn More
